How To Mine Gold

Andrew Carnegie, America's first great industrialist, over 100 years ago had 43 millionaires working for him this was an extremely rare occurence then and still is today.
A reporter asked Mr Carnegie how did manage to hire 43 millionaires to work for him. Carnegie responded and said that "none of them were millionaires when I first hired them" he said, but he explained that, “You develop millionaires the same way you mine gold. When your mining gold you expect to move tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don't go into the mine looking for the dirt you go in looking for the gold.”

This statement by Andrew Carnegie is so profound and so true, but we often do the opposite, we some times go off digging for dirt in a person or a situation that we often totally over look the golden nuggets we often discover.

We deprive our selves of success, happiness and prosperity all but too often just because, when we should be digging and mining for gold we end up left with a hand full of dirt and we sometimes try to validate our findings by making some crazing statement like “see I knew it wouldn't work” or “I knew that person was never good from the start”, now while pointing fingers may seem cool at the moment it is never a good mental attitude and it is always reserve for losers.

We have to realize that we don't see things the way they really are we only see things the way we are. What does that mean you may ask? Well we can only see things from our own perspective so if we have a poor or negative mental attitude that is how we will see things and if we don't change it we will always miss golden opportunities.

Winston Churchill once said “a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty”

It is absolutely important for us to adjust our mental attitude if we really want to be healthy, wealthy, happy and wise, with a proper PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) we can guarantee that we wont go off digging for dirt any more besides what are we going to do with the tons dirt that we have amass any ways? It as no use, I know in the pass that I have been  guilty off dirt mining  and what have I found out is; that junk as no value and it just weighs you down.

Andrew Carnegie amassed a fortune during the 1800s that would be worth more than $250 billion in today's dollars. To put this in perspective, Carnegie would have more money than the top three richest men in the world today, combined. Carnegie did not start off rich however. He and his family immigrated to America as a small poor immigrant boy from Scotland. His family lived in poverty, first in Scotland, and then in Pittsburgh. As a small boy he had to drop out of school and work long hours six days a week to help support his family.

While down in the crux of poverty Carnegie discovered that in order to achieve anything great you need to have a Positive Mental Attitude toward life. This is what took him from complete poverty to the richest man in the world a century ago. In order to be successful Andrew Carnegie believe that when you're mining gold you expect to move tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don't go into the mine looking for the dirt you go in looking for the gold.”
