New Year’s Revolution

Have you ever noticed that every year at new years eve we declare our new year's resolution, but as soon as the new year begins we often start for two weeks or maybe even a month at best before we end up quitting and then.
That which we have resolute so vehemently about just months before we end up putting it in the pile of unfinished business that we have been stocking up on over the years.

I have been giving this a lot of thought and a little research and what I have uncovered is that a lot of these declaration that people have made for their lives as the components to make them really successful and in most case extremely wealthy. So I beg to ask the question. Why they would abandon such great power and the ability to make themselves prosperous and successful?

Well a few answers came up, but two stood out the most to me and those are.

  • They just don't know. Most people don't have a clue as to the chain reaction of successes that would have followed if they had only stuck with their declarations like a postage stamp until it reaches its destination.
    • They lack the dedication, relentlessness, determination and most of all the Motivation that is needed to achieve greatness.

So this is my step by step guide on how to make these new year's declarations and keep them.

Step 1. Turn your declarations into real achievable goals, write them down in detail and list out the expected benefits that you wish to receive.

Step 2.  Put a time value on your goals. This means that you're going to put a starting time and a ending time for each goal.
This doesn't mean that at the end of each goal you would have accomplished everything on your list.
what this actually does is it helps you to gauge and measure your progress so you can know where to focus more attention.

It's best to set long term as well as short term goals, thus maximizing your full potential.

Step 3.   Stop making resolutions. For the majority, just the word itself carries tremendous psychological disadvantages; they just don't work. According to surveys, only 8 percent of Americans successfully achieve their New Year's resolutions, 92% are not kept.  80 percent of those who make New Year resolutions have failed by Jan. 20th. So what do you do then?

Step 4. Start making New Year's revolutions instead. So what's the difference you might ask? Well the definition for resolution is (a formal expression of opinion or intention, the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action) which simply means that you will take forever to get it done and you will be discourage on your way.

Maybe this is why psychologists all over the world say that  New year's resolutions are doomed to failure.
well noted psychologists have said that setting a resolution is a form of "cultural procrastination” because people fail to set realistic goals and most aren't ready to change their habits.

I am not a psychologists but my research has shown and proven to me that in order to have real change and achieve your utmost you need to have a revolution.
This is why I suggest that you should set a new year's revolution.

The definition for Revolution is (An overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed a radical and pervasive change in society and the social structure, especially one made suddenly and often accompanied by intensity).

Every revolution in history was marked by a revolt, a total break away from by open rebellion to cast off allegiance or subjection to those in authority. How this applies to us is that we have to identify our old none supportive ways of thinking and doing things as a government that is keeping us under bondage, stifling our growth and stealing our progress and success.
We have to form a mental rebellion against them and revolt because the truth is they are doing more harm than good.

So the difference with a revolution over a resolution is while a resolution is a stead fast focus on creating change, a revolution on the other hand is a complete dethroning of the old way of doing things a complete reform, new goals, new management system, new governance, new mind set.
This means that you have completely replaced your old paradigm with a new ones so the old routine and frame of mind no longer reign as supreme king in your life which allows you regain the ability to achieve your desired goals.     Let the Revolution begin!!

If you find this helpful in any way please share it with your family and friends post it on your facebook twitter and let others know you care and want to see them succeed.

I really want to thank every one who read my blog and email me your questions and suggestions I promise I will respond to every single one of them before the year ends so give some time, Thanks! again and keep the emails coming.

Birds Of a Feather Flock Together

While I was growing up I always use to hear my aunt say “show me your company and I will tell you who you are” also translate (bird of a feather flock together).

This is one statement that rich and successful people take very seriously; they understand that who you associate your self with will determine your direction in life.

If there are people in your life who are abusive, demeaning, angry, hurtful, not supportive, unethical, or crazy, it is time to let them go. You may have your reasons for hanging on to them, but do these reasons really outweigh the negative impact they have on your life and future?

Just check it if the people on the inner circle of your five closest friends are aimless has no goals for there lives don't have a clue if they are coming are going and all they can talk about is where the next party is going to be; then its quite clear that you will be thinking and talking about the same thing.  I am not trying to say it's bad to have fun; as a matter of fact having fun can be therapeutic.

What I am saying is you have to put your priorities in order. If your friends are not cheer leading you on and motivating you to want to succeed and achieve your goals or if they can't offer you qualifying advice to help improve your quality of life then you probably need to rearrange your associations.

At the very least, find ways to cut back on interactions with these people. Because they are driving you in the middle of nowhere-ville on an empty tank; you can either change your inner circle or your outer circle either way you have to have a support group of friends and family that works as a booster pack propelling you higher and farther head in your life.

Rich and successful people only associate them selves with other rich and successful people not because they believe that they are better than other people, they do so because they understand that if want to go somewhere, its best to find some one who as already been there before so they can guide you.

This kind of association motivates, inspire and direct you forward. You see rich people think differently than poor people about the same things these different ways of looking at the same situation is what allows them to keep achieving more each day.

OK here are a few examples of the difference in thinking.
    • Rich people believe "I create my life." Poor people believe, "Life happens to me."
    • Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.
    • Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles
    • Rich people are bigger than their problems. Poor people are smaller than their problems.
    • Rich people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them.
    • Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.

From these examples you can see why it is so important for you to evaluate your friends and the people the you're closely associated with because if they are under achiever, have no goals, has a Poor Mental Attitude and is not driven to achieve success then guess what 9.9 times out of 10 that will be your exact thoughts and beliefs also.

So give your self a moment and take this challenge today, take a few minutes to evaluate your inner circle and your outer circle of friends and ask your self this questions which one of these people pushes me closer to or further away from my goals and expectations for my life?

And if you work it out and discover who are the pusher and pullers then rearrange your circles and put the pusher on the inner circle and the puller on the outer circle this way you wont lose a friend if that's what you are worried about, but you would gain leverage and if there are no pusher in any of your circles then go find some; just remember the birds that you flock with will determine how far you reach in life.

    As A Man Thinketh

“For as he thinketh in his heart so is he” Proverbs 23:7.

The proverb, as he thinketh in his heart so is he. At fist glance may seem a bit simplistic to some people but if you really look at it and examine the premise you would realize that it is so profound and so relevant today even though it was written over 300 thousand years ago.

Every aspect of a persons life is shaped and governed by their thoughts even down to the minute details of every day choices, I know you’re going to say Collin I already know that; so what’s new? Well the truth is we all know this is a fact, but what we some times fail recognize is, yes our thoughts do control and govern our lives, so the real question is, who or what control and govern our thoughts?

Sounds like a crazy question? Well let examine it for a bit and see, so people act and do as there minds tell them but who tell their minds to act and do the things they do?

    I think Therefore I Am:

Answer: our environment we are all conditioned to think and act a certain way and this is what cause the results that we see in our lives, so here is another question for you, who is really in control of your life?

We are led by what we are fed; this simply means that the kind of information that we feed ourselves will eventually manifest it self in an action. No, no, no Collin your wrong I am the one that is in control of my life not any system, circumstance or person; if your in the driver seat of your life and your driving up success boulevard on your way to achievement highway then kudos to you.

But for most of us it would be wise to acknowledge that our actions can be no wiser than our thoughts and our thinking can be no wiser than our understanding. So if we all do agree that our thoughts govern our lives and we also establish that our conditioning and environment control our thoughts this means that in order to really have control of our lives we have to gauge what we put inside our mind in order to achieve any form of success.

    Garbage In Garbage Out:

Like the old saying goes garbage in garbage out:  all that we are is the result of what we have thought, our life and achievements and the lack there of. where we live our jobs and every instance in our life is a perfect reflection of our thoughts.

We are not creatures of circumstances as we often think, circumstances are a result of us. Albert Einstein once said “We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them” if our intention is to improve our lives then it is imperative that we improve our thoughts.

We have to constantly feed our mind with the things that support and reinforce what we desire to see manifest in our lives if we desire success then we have to realized that Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person:  how do you attract success? You attract it by learning more about it.

The more you learn about success is the more attractive you become to it, as he thinketh in his heart so is he literally means that whatever thoughts you allow to consume your mind will also consume your life.

you cant sow peas and expect apples to grow. So ask your self this question, what kind of seeds are you sowing in your mind? We can no longer say no one knows what's going on inside our heart because even though we think in secret it will come to past our environment is but our looking glass.

    How To Mine Gold

Andrew Carnegie, America's first great industrialist, over 100 years ago had 43 millionaires working for him this was an extremely rare occurence then and still is today.
A reporter asked Mr Carnegie how did manage to hire 43 millionaires to work for him. Carnegie responded and said that "none of them were millionaires when I first hired them" he said, but he explained that, “You develop millionaires the same way you mine gold. When your mining gold you expect to move tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don't go into the mine looking for the dirt you go in looking for the gold.”

This statement by Andrew Carnegie is so profound and so true, but we often do the opposite, we some times go off digging for dirt in a person or a situation that we often totally over look the golden nuggets we often discover.

We deprive our selves of success, happiness and prosperity all but too often just because, when we should be digging and mining for gold we end up left with a hand full of dirt and we sometimes try to validate our findings by making some crazing statement like “see I knew it wouldn't work” or “I knew that person was never good from the start”, now while pointing fingers may seem cool at the moment it is never a good mental attitude and it is always reserve for losers.

We have to realize that we don't see things the way they really are we only see things the way we are. What does that mean you may ask? Well we can only see things from our own perspective so if we have a poor or negative mental attitude that is how we will see things and if we don't change it we will always miss golden opportunities.

Winston Churchill once said “a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty”

It is absolutely important for us to adjust our mental attitude if we really want to be healthy, wealthy, happy and wise, with a proper PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) we can guarantee that we wont go off digging for dirt any more besides what are we going to do with the tons dirt that we have amass any ways? It as no use, I know in the pass that I have been  guilty off dirt mining  and what have I found out is; that junk as no value and it just weighs you down.

Andrew Carnegie amassed a fortune during the 1800s that would be worth more than $250 billion in today's dollars. To put this in perspective, Carnegie would have more money than the top three richest men in the world today, combined. Carnegie did not start off rich however. He and his family immigrated to America as a small poor immigrant boy from Scotland. His family lived in poverty, first in Scotland, and then in Pittsburgh. As a small boy he had to drop out of school and work long hours six days a week to help support his family.

While down in the crux of poverty Carnegie discovered that in order to achieve anything great you need to have a Positive Mental Attitude toward life. This is what took him from complete poverty to the richest man in the world a century ago. In order to be successful Andrew Carnegie believe that when you're mining gold you expect to move tons of dirt to find an ounce of gold, but you don't go into the mine looking for the dirt you go in looking for the gold.”

    Acres Of Diamonds

This is an excerpt from one of the most inspirational books that I've read its called Acres of Diamonds by Russell H. Conwell.

I felt like sharing it today because I believe it illustrates what happen when we fail to realize our own potentials and start looking at other people's lives and situation and say to ourselves only if I was that person or only if I had there opportunity I would be better off. We become so engulf with these distractions some times that we go off chasing other people's dreams so much so that we neglect our own lives trying to find something that we already have.

There was a farmer in Africa who was happy and content. He was happy because he was content. He was content because he was happy.
One day a wise man came to him and told him about the glory of diamonds and the power that goes along with them. The wise man said, "If you had a diamond the size of your thumb, you could have your own city. If you had a diamond the size of your fist, you could probably own your own country." And then he went away. That night the farmer couldn't sleep. He was unhappy and he was discontent. He was unhappy because he was discontent and discontent because he was unhappy.

The next morning he made arrangements to sell off his farm, took care of his family and went in search of diamonds. He looked all over Africa and couldn't find any. He looked all through Europe and couldn't find any. When he got to Spain, he was emotionally, Physically and financially broke. He got so disheartened that he threw himself into the Barcelona River and committed suicide.

Back home, the person who had bought his farm was watering the camels at a stream that ran through the farm. Across the stream, the rays of the morning sun hit a stone and made it sparkle like a rainbow. He thought it would look good on the mantle. He Picked up the stone and put it in the living room. That afternoon the wise man came and saw the stone sparkling. He asked, "Is Hafiz back?"

The new owner said, "No, why do you ask?" The wise man said, "Because that is a diamond. I recognize one when I see one." The man said, no, that's just a stone I picked up from the stream. Come, I'll show you. There are many more." They went and picked some samples and sent them for analysis. Sure enough, the stones were diamonds. They found that the farm was indeed covered with acres and acres of diamonds.

What is the moral of this story? There are five morals actually:

    1. When our attitude is right, we realize that we are all walking on acres and acres of

        Diamonds.

    · Attributed to Dr Russel  Conwell.

    · Opportunity is always under our feet. We don't have to go anywhere. All we need

        to do is recognize it.

    2. The grass on the other side always looks greener.

    3. While we are dyeing the grass on the other side, there are others who are dyeing the

grass on our side. They would be happy to trade places with us.

    4. When people don't know how to recognize opportunity, they complain of noise when        it knocks on your door.

    5. The same opportunity never knocks twice. The next one may be better or worse, but    it is never the same one.
